About Us

CrossCultural Intellect (CCI) is in a unique position to offer training and consultancy that is informed by daily practical contact between the founder-facilitators with refugee and migrant communities.  These encounters add to CCI’s a current knowledge of the barriers encountered by stakeholders and how they might be resolved.  Our experience also enables us to guide organisations to identify and optimize existing strengths in its multiculturally diverse workforce and utilize these inherent resources for enhancing organisational deliverables.

Andrea possesses expertise in driving and communicating reforms, creating a culture of innovation and capacity building, and many more.

Andrea Creado

Andrea Creado is currently the CEO of a multicultural women’s health organisation with over 20 years’ experience of working with varied ethnic communities in a community health setting. Andrea holds a Master’s Degree in Human Development, Bachelor of Psychology, Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In addition, Andrea is a qualified trainer having completed the Cert IV in Workplace Training and Development.

She has experience in leading people, programs and thinking at strategic and operational levels in both government and in the non-government community-based health services sector. Currently she sits on the Board for the Centre for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing and a Committee Member for various community organisations. She has also been participating in the Office of Multicultural Interest’s Mentoring program since 2021 through which she mentors professionals interested in becoming Board members.

Andrea is regularly invited by state government departments to provide expertise on developing better programs for culturally diverse communities in the areas of domestic violence, health, and mental health.

Andrea possesses expertise in driving and communicating reforms, creating a culture of innovation and capacity building, and engaging and empowering colleagues to facilitate active contributions to both regular activities and new initiatives. Due to her leadership both Andrea and the organisation she leads have won several National, State and Local Awards for empowering multicultural communities.

Dr. Bernadette Wright

Dr Bernadette Wright is a Clinical Psychologist of over 25 years’ experience specialising in transcultural mental health with Western Australia’s Department of Health and now in the not-for-profit sector. Her work focuses on understanding the inter-relationship of resettlement, mental health and ethnocultural issues for migrants and refugees and the barriers to their successful acculturation and broader community engagement.   

She is on the Boards of key non-government agencies and continues her active involvement in various government mental health committees at the state and national level.  Dr Wright’s career encompasses work with individuals and families from ethnoculturally and linguistically diverse (ELD) backgrounds and advice to government and community groups.  She has undertaken collaborative action research which have led to publications and holds an adjunct senior lecturer appointment at Curtin University.

Dr Wright has developed and delivered numerous culturally responsive training seminars and workshops on various aspects underscoring the interface between ethnicity, culture, and mental health.  Her resource development initiatives have been aimed at ELD groups and facilitating practitioners’ engagement with the transcultural process.  Dr Wright’s work has been recognised by awards from Western Australia’s Department of Health, Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, and the Health Consumers’ Council of Western Australia.
